Key Force Deflection

SUH utilizes a tactile feel rubber dome switch which is standard on all SUH products.

The tactile feel provides feedback to the operator (via the force dropoff) that the key has been depressed sufficiently to generate closure. This feature is particularly useful for touch typists, and reduces fatigue that is associated with operators constantly pressing keys to the full overtravel level.

The rubber dome also provides a noise free key switch due to the key plunger overetravel stop being the rubber dome, thus no plastic to plastic "tick" is generated.

Mechanical Life is rated at 10,000,000 actuations with optional 20,000,000 version.

Keyboard Stack-Up

The SUH stack-up consists of a plastic base, in which nests a metal plate (optional on Daisy line). The plate provides weight, stability, and ESD protection to the membrane. The boot domes are centered within the cover housing by the guide silos. The keycaps are snapped into the cover/housing which is then snapped onto the base sub assembly. Switch contact is made via a 3 layer contact type membrane.
